The ever-increasing ambition and intelligence of man is the theme reflected through superb visual effects for this 30-year-old film. Kubrick's vivid imagination incorporated with Arthur C. 29th January 2005: Metropolis
Germany - 1927 - Rated N/A -134 min. (Silent)
Director: Fritz Lang

This imaginative silent movie can be considered the genesis of all Sci-fi flicks. It depicts a futuristic human society where the upper class people act as the brain while the lower classes are its limbs, and where people yearn for freedom. The core message that makes this film a classic is that the brain and limbs cannot work without a heart. Fritz Lang's Metropolis is the father of many later Sci-fi films such as Blade Runner.
