Organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in collaboration with the Chiang Mai Municipal Administration, the local cultural organizations and schools of arts and culture in Chiang Mai in honor of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn, the festival celebrates Lanna cultural conservation as well as the cultural exchange between participating nations. The festival provides nine days of a variety of cultural exhibitions and performances from different countries, including Japan, Laos, Vietnam, China and Myanmar. Most are held at Three Kings Monument's public space and areas around the city of Chiang Mai from 1st to 9th April 2007.
The festival is divided into 3 main parts; stage performances, the Art Pavilion and Market, and the other cultural events sponsored by TAT.
Chiefly held at Three Kings Monument's public space, the performances on stage from 7pm to 10pm include numbers of famous Thai singers: Radklao Amaradit, Jenifer Kim, Wiyada Komarakul, Koh Mr. Saxman, and Ford Sobchai. Also performing are the ETC band, the grand Suntaraporn band, and the Royal Thai Navy Orchestra, together with cultural contributions from both Thai and international artists, including four different local Thai performing arts, Lanna puppet, Lanna country music and Vientiane's puppet players among them. Secondly, from 4pm to 10pm, the Art Pavilion and Market are held at the areas around Chiang Mai Arts & Cultural Centre.
