Accenting the difference
Many of the huge number of health centres and
spas dotted around Chiang Mai take a similar
approach when it comes to the services and ambience they offer. Expect a traditional Thai massage, along with a whole range of other relaxing treatments that you can mix and match, all with the unmistakable Northern Thai approach.
Lanna Come Spa is a little different. Opening its doors to the spa-loving public for the first time in May this year, this beautiful little spa set off Chanklang Road among trees and flowers offers a spa package based on the traditions of Xishuangbanna (or Sibsongpana), an area at the very south of China’s Yunnan Province where there is a long Thai heritage.
Derived from the Thai phrase for 12 rice growing areas, this region that borders Burma and Laos still follows a distinctly Lanna way of life and is home to hill tribes including the Lahu, who also reside in northern Thailand. Xishuangbanna is also an area that celebrates the Water Festival almost as wholeheartedly as does Chiang Mai.
All of these influences from the far reaches of Lanna have been brought together to produce Lanna Come Spa’s distinct approach, the first such spa of its kind anywhere in the north of Thailand. You will be able to get a gentle but firm massage for the feet, a full-body massage and many variations besides.
You can reserve a unique spa package or call Lanna Come Spa for more details about their unique spa deals at 053-241074 or 081-5166359.
