There's a myriad of different tailors and garment makers to assist you in Chiang Mai and I wanted to check one out. I went along to Fashion King after a recommendation.

"Customer satisfaction is our pride," said the sign across the window as I peered through, and was met with a smile from the affable owner Mr. Frank.

"Authentic craftsmanship in personalised fine tailoring," he said handing me his card, going on to explain that making high quality clothes for people is not just a business but an opportunity to build relationships with customers, to make friends of them.

At Fashion King they can basically make anything you desire using their extensive range of cloth. They are also experienced at working with Thai silk. Any questions about textiles Mr. Frank says he can answer. Choose designs from the magazines and catalogues provided, or take along images of your own: it's up to you. And don't forget to ask Mr. Frank about his very special water- and liquid-resistant wool mix. It truly is special. I got a demonstration to prove it!

Fashion King is normally located by the food court at the Night Bazaar, but due to current renovations in that area, Fashion King is temporarily re-housed on the 2nd flr. at Pantip Plaza. But don't worry. For B.4,500 you can still get an excellent two-piece suit, shirt and neck tie made from genuine products. Buy three and you get a two-in-one jacket free. So off you go. Mr. Frank is just waiting to get the measure of you!
