3rd December 2005: Spring Subway
Chinese - 2002 Rated - NR- 93 mins. Director: Zhang Yibai
Another film directed by Zhang Yibai that depicts the picture of Beijing city where you can encounter feelings of love, woe, trust and a search for goals in life.
10th December 2005: Scene at the sea
Japanese - 1992 Rated - NR - 100 mins. Director: Takeshi Kitano
A classic romantic and dramatic movie by Kitano explores how surfing on a turquoise sea under a clear blue sky becomes the means for youngsters to show their love, and display the unlimited courage that can change ordinary people into celebrities. It has won 7 awards.
17th December 2005: The Love Eternal
Chinese - 1962 Rated - NR - 122 mins. Director: Li Han - Hsing
The love legend of a Chinese woman in a society where rights and freedom don't exist, Ying-Tai therefore disguises herself as a man in order to study but meets and falls in love with a real man. However, her love has to endure ineradicable suffering. A masterpiece of Han Hsiang Li that should not be missed.
24th December 2005: Ashes of Time

The first Chinese martial arts movie of Wong Kar-Wai with Sammo Hung Kam-bo as an action director and many more performers like Brigitte Lin Ching-Hsia, Leslie Cheung, Tony Leung, Chiu Wai, Jacky Cheung, and Maggie Cheung, that portrays the extraordinary athleticism of the Chinese martial arts world, in combination with some extraordinarily spectacular special effects.

Chiang Mai is not without good cinemas for film buffs. Although only two cinema operators are competing to attract the big-screen fans, a wide variety of choices are on offer daily from noon to midnight.

Established about 13 years ago, Vista theaters on the fourth floor of Kad Suan Kaew introduced the people of Chiang Mai to the multiplex theaters and the thrills of Hollywood magic. Of the seven digital-sound theaters in Kad Suan Kaew, Vista 1 - 4 offer a large capacity and big screen, while the rest are of medium and low capacity. Vista Group also has four other large capacity theaters, of which two at the 12 Huay Kaew arcade opposite Kad Suan Kaew also show English-speaking films.

Major Cineplex
A now household name for movie theater buffs in Thailand, Major Cineplex offers a relatively new cinema complex on the fourth floor of Central Airport Plaza. Although the theaters are generally of lower capacity, they boast more comfortable seats and superior audio-visual systems.
