1. Kwai-Thanu
(or wuathanu, depending whether it’s a buffalo or bull), for protection from enemies. In the past, people used it when they traveled into forests. It can be made of different materials, such as wood, metal or elephant tusk.
2. Yan(tra) Ma Sep Nang
A cloth with
a written incantation and a picture of horse making love to a woman. This is not seen as pornography but creating popularity and making others love you. It is ideal for a businessman, salespersons or for those who have to negotiate with people.
3. Khaokwang Kut
(antler) A naturally created talisman providing magical power and protection.
4. Maeng Puu
(wood carved in a bumblebee shape) This is believed to be a Burmese charm. Legend says this talisman was used by King Bayinnaung of Burma in his military campaign against Thailand. Originally it was made from the body of an ox-cart by carving it into bumblebee shape. The maeng puu is used for protection and charms and is popular among both aristocrats and ordinary people.
5. Kalakae Rahu Om Chan
A carved coconut shell in the form of Rahu (a celestial monster that swallows the moon during eclipses). This piece can turn bad fortune to good, as well as ensure good luck in love.
6. Inn
(A molded figure of two people hugging each other) A symbol of love that possesses a strong power to enhance your attractiveness. Taking this talisman to a business meeting, negotiation or when being with your loved one will have a positive result.
7. Takrud
A stick made of buffalo skin, cloth or a piece of paper. A charm is written on it and it is then rolled, and sealed with lac. A takrud is hung around your waist to prevent anything harming you.
8. Yan(tra) Neep or Takrudpab
A piece of metal clipped onto a holy thread, believed to work as a charm and attract the opposite sex.
9. Kiewsue or Kiewmootan
A tiger’s or a boar’s tooth. This has power naturally and doesn’t need an investment ceremony. Once again, it is protective.
10. Meedmor or Meedhaeg
A knife, used to avert illness and bad fortune, or protect from harm. Usually made from iron or an elephant tusk.
