At the centre of Chiang Mai’s bustling life there’s an oasis of calm, offering a quiet private space to relax and retreat. Even though The Xym Boutique Apartment is on the central hub of Wualai Road - a prime location close to many modern facilities such as supermarkets, department stores, the night market, 7-11s, and many more - it also offers a tranquil private space making it the perfect place to stay.

Wualai Road is well known for its silverware village. Every Saturday night many tourists love to go there for the night market. Life on Wualai Road preserves the traditional life of local people while remaining not too far away from modern facilities and comforts. The Xym Boutique Apartment is very quiet. In front of the apartment are shop houses and food vendors at night to facilitate your daily life, but once you enter into the apartment you will feel you’re stepping into another world.

The building faces away from the main road and towards the mountains, creating a private space even though it’s close to so many shops. The owner wants to make it a home-apartment, so he’s made his home on the top floor. This five-storey building contains 52 rooms or suites divided into different types. The largest suite is The Xym Le Grand, which comprises one bedroom, two bathrooms, a living room, a kitchenette, a sofa and a dining table. The décor really stands out against anything you’ll find elsewhere because the owner is an antique collector and the decorative items are from his own collections. There’s a teak table with a Western king size bed, or a cushion in a Lanna antique cover sheet. Many Vietnamese paintings and embroidery decorate the walls and some antique fabrics from China, Thailand, Laos, Burma or fashioned the hill tribes are hanging there as well.

The owner has emphasized the importance of central space in the design, so the walkway is a wide and open space. The building is L-shaped with good lighting and air. Because the owner doesn’t want his guests to feel they are living in a box, he has provided relaxing spaces on third, fourth and fifth floor terraces. On the fifth floor, there is also a swimming pool with a Jacuzzi, as well as a terrace with a pavilion, perfect for guests to relax in. And even on the top floor, WiFi is also available for all to use.

The Xym Boutique Apartment offers both daily and monthly services. Room rates differ not only because of the different living space they offer, but also on account of the room services and facilities each provide. The good thing is you can choose whatever matches your lifestyle. The public coin laundry and dryer service with clothes horse area are on the third floor and full laundry service is available here as well. Every room has free cable TV and UBC (true vision), along with free wireless internet. The security system is trustworthy as it uses key card access and CCTV with security guard in all areas. Besides, you will find life very easy with shops, entertainment and facilities just within a reach such as 7-eleven, beauty salon, drugstore, DVD shop in front of the building.

For a place as well-equipped and as good as some hotels in an excellent location, we really recommend The Xym Boutique Apartment. It’s worth every single baht of the rates on offer.
