The Podology CenterText: GM
The word Podology comes from ancient Greece where Podos about 2,500 years ago meant foot. Today, Podology is the science and teaching of the foot. The Podologist is a medical foot therapist who is close to being a physician. He is related to the Podiatrist or Chiropodist but deals mainly with foot surface problems. Every part of the human anatomy has its own medical expert who can take better care of specific problems than a general practitioner. Since the end of the 19th century, modern Podology has been functioning all over Europe, but in Asia, Podologists are very well known only in Japan and South Korea.
The Podology Center Bangkok - Chiang Mai is the first Podology clinic group in Thailand, run by Dirk Weeber Arayatumsopon PhD, an 18-year-experienced Podologist from Germany and his 7-year-experienced Thai partner Wuttipong Arayatumsopon. The Podology Center is not concerned with pedicures, which are largely for aesthetic purposes, but with administering appropriate medical treatment for feet. The treatments range from curing basic problems such as skin problems, corn removal, cracked heel treatment, in-growing nail treatment, and foot sweating, to curing more serious foot matters such as wounds affected by diabetes or neurological conditions. Hygiene is the main concern of the Podology Center and to this end all equipment is sterilized and packed in separate disposable bags to ensure that patients are not at risk from bacterial infection.
The Podology Center also offers its customers and patients a choice of expert-selected quality foot, leg, nail and skin treatment products at reasonable prices, such as skin cream foams, collagen lotions and skin crack ointments. Further, the Podology Center offers medical inlays, silicon tubes and other specialized equipment to cure and stabilize foot and toe deformities.
Do not hesitate to visit the Podology Center in Bangkok or Chiang Mai, to have a consultation if you have foot problems, or are thinking about taking care of your feet. Transportation for a lower charge within 20 km of the city of Chiang Mai is possible, but in Bangkok transportation is not offered at the moment. Please call 089-633 8586, 053-038084 or 029-410414 for more information or visit www.mft-thailand.com.
