UK - 2002 - Rated R - 113 min. Director: Danny Boyle
A young man wakes from a coma brought about by an accident 28 days earlier and finds the world full of zombies, and almost devoid of humans. He later on teams up with a group of surviving strangers and journeys to where they believe is safe. This is the second collaborative work of Danny Boyle and Alex Garland after the global success of 'The Beach'.
13th August 2005: The Usual Suspects
USA - 1995 - Rated R - 106 min. Director: Bryan Singer
Five villains are brought together for the usual suspect lineup for a crime none of them has taken part in. After release, they get together to plain a heist that seems can't go wrong. Unfortunately, they're not aware there was nothing chance about the lineup, or that they've been set up by a master criminal, and this is going to be their last crime - their last anything. The Usual Suspects won the Oscars for Kevin Spacey for Best Actor in a supporting role, and for best screenplay.
20th August 2005: Se7en
USA - 1995 - Rated R - 127 min. Director: David Fincher
In a rotten town, a duo team of an old and a new detective are following the trail of a serial killer, whose intention is to commit seven murders that will punish seven persons he judges have committed one of the deadly sins. In the fateful hunt, the detectives have no idea they are part of the diabolical plan, and that one of them is intended to be a victim. 1995 seems to have been a good year for Kevin Spacey, who gets a number of awards for his part as the creepy and ultimately totally successful killer.
27th August 2005: Kill Bill Vol. 1 - 2
2001 - France / Germany / Italy / Spain / Switzerland - 91 min. USA - 2003/2004 - Rated R - 111 + 136 min. Director: Quentin Tarantino
A young woman wakes up from a four-year coma. She was an ex-agent in the so-called Deadly Viper Assassin Squad, and now returns to exact revenge on those who destroyed all that she loves and almost killed her on her wedding day. Kill Bill Vols 1 and 2 were the brainchild of Tarantino and Uma Thurman, who also worked together on the 1994 blockbuster, Pulp Fiction.
