The Podology Center

The science of Podology began approximately in 1630 done by people called "Baders" who worked as dentist, barber, and podologist. About 170 years later, when modern medicine had developed, medical occupations were specialized in order for patients to receive specialist treatments. Every part of the human anatomy has its own medical expert who could take better care of specific problems than a general practitioner. At the end of the 19th century, modern podology was born and has been functioning all over Europe ever since; but in Asia, podologists are only very well known in Japan and South Korea.

The Podology Center Chiang Mai is the first podology clinic in Thailand, run by a 15-year experienced podologist. The Podology Center is not concerned with pedicures, which are largely for aesthetic purposes, but with administrating appropriate medical treatments for feet. The treatments range from curing basic problems such as skin problems, corn removals, cracked heal treatment, in-growing nail treatment, and sweaty foot treatment, to curing more serious foot matters such as wounds affected by diabetes or neurological conditions. Hygiene is the main concern of the Podology Center and to this end all equipment is sterilized and packed in separate disposable bags to ensure that patients are not at risk from bacterial infection.

The Podology Center also offers its customers and patients a choice of expert-selected quality foot, leg, nail and skin treatment products at reasonable prices, such as skin cream foams, collagen lotions and skin crack ointments.
