RECOMMENDED RESTAURANTS
One of Nimmanhaeminda Road's latest accommodations, the Pingnakorn, not only has beautiful stylish rooms at exceptional rates, but their restaurant, Le Nakara, serves classic Western dishes with a nuance of Thai, at very
affordable prices.
The chic dining room has the feel of a garden conservatory with classic wooden overtones, beautiful lighting, and elegant
furnishings; a very peaceful spot to relax, hangout and enjoy their fresh coffee whilst surfing the net courtesy of the free wireless provided.
The Western-orientated menu is updated monthly, with
traditional Chiang Mai foods featuring last month. The all day set breakfasts are excellent value at 100 baht, as are the burgers with toppings such as bacon with rosemary that come fully-loaded with fries and sides for a staggeringly low 85 baht! The Le Nakara salad akin to a Caesar Salad but with a homemade sauce, and the kicked up tuna melt are highly recommended, as are the plates of spaghetti
with a variety of sauces, all made
in-house.
Opened daily from 8 am until
10 pm this is a real gem of a restaurant in part due to its privacy and calming ambience within a trendy neighborhood, but mainly due to the well-thought out menu that has brought together
genuinely tasty fare to suit all palates.

Mae Rim district is one of the famous tourist destinations in Chiang Mai with a variety of tourist attractions and activities and is also very well known as a wonderful place for dining. If you plan to make a trip along the Mae Rim-Samoeng Road, don't forget to stop by the Tiger Kingdom, which is the area's latest dining venue located, just minutes from the city.
Tiger Kingdom is a tiger park that doubles as a restaurant mainly serving Thai food. The tigers at the restaurant are acquainted with humans as they have been nurtured by them since birth, and are well taken care of by the tiger specialists. So you are sure to appreciate these wildlife beauties while having a fine meal at the Tiger Kingdom.
Not only are the tigers well fed here, but so are all the
customers, as numerous flavorsome items are served. Well, what is there to eat? Let's start with the appetizers: fried shrimps topped with mayonnaise, deep fried cheese spring rolls and spinach with apple sauce. Then why not try a dish of 2-flavor Tab Tim fish and the traditional Nam Prik Long Ruer which is a spicy dip with shrimp paste served with sweetened pork, salted egg and vegetables.
If dining right next to the tigers' cage is not exciting enough, you are welcome to get into the cage with them (and the staff) for a 300 baht fee.
If you are clueless when it comes to Korean food but still want to try it, then the Friday buffet featuring 13 different dishes, which are changed every week, is a perfect choice at only
150 baht per person.
What makes this eatery different from other Korean eateries? Well it's undoubtedly the use of high technology. At the Chern Chim, one makes one's order for food and drink via the laptop, available on each table, where the bill is immediately displayed. Of course a beefy 4 MHz wireless internet service is also available
