Coming to Chiang Mai (or showing already?)
TROY
Action
Set in ancient Greece, Wolfgang Petersen’s Troy is a historical epic based on The Iliad, the Greek poet Homer’s account of the Trojan War. Paris (Orlando Bloom), the Prince of Troy, begins an affair with Helen (Diane Kruger), the Queen of Sparta. King Menelaus (Brendan Gleeson) takes this as a terrible insult, both to him and his brother, Agamemnon (Brian Cox), King of the Mycenaeans. Agamemnon unites the populations of Greece to bring Helen back from Troy. He also wants to expand his empire, and he forms an alliance with Achilles (Brad Pitt), a warrior who hungers for glory and power, to bring down the walled city, which is defended by Prince Hector (Eric Bana).
THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW
Action
Quaid plays a climatologist who tries to figure out a way to save the world from abrupt global warming. He must get to his young son (Gyllenhaal) in New York, which is being taken over by a new ice age. Rossum will star as the love interest of Jake Gyllenhaal’s character, a member of an academic decathlon team.
